 Jairo is CTO of AWAY. Jairo is a seasoned technology and business leader with an entrepreneurial spirit and a proven ability to bridge the gap between IT and strategic growth. He graduated with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Business Administration, and later expanded his expertise with studies in Finance and Economics at Universidad Simón Bolívar. Early in his career, he honed his technical foundations as a Senior Systems Administrator at Merrill Lynch and the Federal Farm Credit Banks Funding Corporation.

From managing 24×7 operations of core mainframe systems for one of Switzerland’s largest banks to guiding cross-continental delivery teams, Jairo has built a track record of leadership and innovation in Finance and IT. He has a wealth of experience including serving as a CIO and CEO of globlal computing and capital management companies.  He also was a Development Director and Markets Leader at Cognizant for over a decade, where he led global business development teams, defined go-to-market strategies, and served as Program and Delivery Director across North America and EMEA.
