Melissa Wilson is CEO of AWAY, where she leads efforts to expand access to high-quality education through innovative technology solutions. With more than fifteen years of experience in education and digital delivery where she taught at collegiate and K-12 levels as well as designed and delivered over 100 courses for online and hybrid programs. In all of her learning products, she focused on accessibility, learner engagement, and measurable outcomes.    

Prior to her role as CEO, Melissa served as Director of Program Development and AI innovation, where she led strategic initiatives leveraging emerging technologies to enhance program delivery and broaden access for underserved learners. She is passionate about developing and spearheading scalable frameworks, high-performing teams, and efficient processes that operate seamlessly across organizations. Known for simplifying complex systems, she enables teams to optimize performance through greater efficiency, reduce operational waste, and make data-informed decisions. Her background includes senior leadership roles in higher education and e-learning, where she built scalable instructional systems and drove cross-functional collaboration across academic and technical teams.

Melissa holds a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida. She is certified in Quality Matters, fluent in Spanish, conversant in French and Italian, learning Mandarin, and maintains an active interest in other global languages and cross-cultural communication. Melissa comes from a family of successful entrepreneurs, an influence that shaped her approach to leadership, innovation, and problem-solving from an early age.  Under her leadership, AWAY is advancing multilingual, accessible learning solutions designed to reach diverse populations across varying connectivity environments.
